Top 50 albums of the decade
Hello, one and all. This is something no one asks for and no one wants but I am going to do it anywhere. A definitive ranking of the top 50 albums of the decade. It’s bound to be controversial, create mayhem which is exactly why I am going to do it. I won’t be judging any album on meaning cos as I’ve said before that is so interpretative and different for everyone that I can’t preach anything about it. Also, chart success doesn’t make you good. Taylor Swift sang about mad love but I will not show her this and instead decide my top 50 albums. This took me an innumerable amount of time, so comment your favorite and let's get a conversation going. Any feedback would be appreciated and would be mad love.
Rank 50 to 41
JME, Integrity>- As an online persona, JME would be in the top 5. An incredibly interesting, talented, funny and one of the key reasons for the Sidemen starting. If he reads this, I’m sorry you’re so low, Skepta’s brother. Man don’t care and integrity itself are two highlights for me, but it is mostly him just spitting, which although shows off his talent but isn’t for me. Looking forward to getting his new album on CD and see the product of what this man can produce. A unique character and fully deserving of being on this list.
Florence and the Machine, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful- First off with this, its Florence and the Machine, it's not just Florence Welch. Please don’t ignore most of the band, please. Florence and the Machine have had some decade, winning a brit award, being nominated for Grammies and mercury Prizes and of course killing their Glastonbury set. Also probably their greatest achievement albeit not in this decade, was turning me into an indie kid. However, Lungs for me is a significantly better album than How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. This album is carried by Ship to Wreck and What Kind of Man and apart from those two singles there’s not much in the other songs. Nothing stood out to me and for me, that is the worst sign of any album.

Arcade Fire The Suburbs- I feel arcade fire are a band that everyone knows and likes but the average person doesn’t love them as much as other bands. It could be complete waffle but it’s my opinion. Ready to start is an absolute banger but this album is just not as well rounded as most on the list. Arcade Fire can write bangers better than most bands but I have yet to have heard a complete album from them.

Haim, days are gone- one of the breakouts stars of the decade for me. Very catchy indie pop and would love to just spend some time with these sisters. Estelle has the best bass face ever, Danielle is one cool motherfucker and Alana is incredibly talented and she’s beautiful so if you’re reading this hit me up. The sisters are unique and the album is as well, probably deserving higher.

Father John Misty, I love you, Honeybear- Father John Misty is one of the coolest motherfuckers at the moment. Dropping acids at the Brits a few years back, his reinvention is Father John Misty is one of many success stories of the 2010s. Chateau lobby #4 is the first song I heard of his and I wouldn’t be too disheartened if it was his last I heard of his. The songs are pieces of art rather than just music.

Joji, Ballads I- Joji or filthy Frank is one of the internet’s most creative and long-lasting members. Joji manages to have a blend of ballads and club sounding tracks. Although Joji is more of an EP, Slow Dancing in the Dark is worthy to be on any list of the decade. Coupled with Yeah Right and Test Drive, puts this album onto the list no matter how low down this is.
Post Malone, Hollywood’s Bleeding- Post Malone is one of the biggest artists of the 2010s especially in the latter half of the decade. His first two albums may be later on this list, without giving any spoilers away. Circles is one hell of a tune and backed up with his releases of Sunflower and Wow before, make this album deserving of this post. There is not a whole lot of depth to this album. This perhaps may be a running theme throughout the early stages of this list. A number one album for Posty and the first of this list.

King Krule- one of the biggest surprising voices I’ve ever seen, leave a ginger man. Also the most unique artist on this list. Easy Easy is a monster of a tune and with that song alone deserves an entry onto this list. A few other songs are worthy of note but don’t really add much to the album at all. Especially in comparison to Easy Easy.
Thom Yorke, Anima- I hate Radiohead and think Thom Yorke is a wannabe David Bowie. However, talent recognizes
talent. Released in 2019, one of the newest albums on here. Thom Yorke is a chameleon and never stops to show his undeniable talent in his music.
Tyler the Creator, Flower Boy- Another one of music’s great innovators. A truly special individual who has never been confined to any particular genre. One of music’s apparent nice guys and one I would love to go to the pub with. See you Again and Boredom is two of my favorite songs of the decade but if you wouldn’t have guessed already there is not a lot of songs apart from that.
The rest of this will be coming out soon. I know its late but I'm lazy I'm sorry, sue me.
