Madison Beer Album Review

 Life Support by Madison Beer

Rating:★★★★★ (2)

Madison Beer is a musician who I know more as a TikTok star and being involved in David Dobrik's vlogs than any musical career. She is obviously a stunning chick and everything I've seen of her, she seems lovely. The Rick and Morty excerpt is very dope if not completely unexpected. Obviously, I don't think I'm the main demographic for this album but I will still give my unwanted opinion.

The beginning of the album is creatively called The Beginning and this is a n
othing song. Only sounding like something you would hear at the start of the gig. Good in Goodbye carries on one of my most hated cliches in modern music. The spelling out of words in pop songs. No Doubt started this and although this greatly helps me spell banana, it annoys me every single time. However, apart from my annoyance at the spelling of G-O-O-D, the song is a bit of a nothingness. It's a catchy pop song but was nothing new and could have been copied and pasted from any pop album of the last 20 years.

There is a few nothing songs on the album which just sound like Ariana Grande's rip offs. Not bad they just don't change your life and pass you by effortlessly. However, my favorite song on the album is Follow the White Rabbit. It has some shit to do with Alice in Wonderland, but that is not what makes the song good. The hook is amazing and grabs you the first time I heard it. The first song on the album that I truly enjoyed and one that I would go back to. It sounds more unique than any of the other songs and is not a carbon copy of any other popular artists.

Selfish seems like a Taylor Swift kind of ballad where for the first time in this album, I felt that Madison actually pours her heart into the album and speaks about stuff that is important to her. However, it has nearly 200 millions streams. It is a decent song but is it 200 million streams worth of decent, no absolutely not. I find Baby incredibly catchy and it gets stuck in my head a fews seconds after listening to it. More catchy than most STDs but I will still be humming it repeatedly after only just listening to it.

Stained Glass and Emotional Bruises are two of the most interesting songs on the album for me. They're a lot more unrefined and actually shows off her vocal range instead of the autotune tunes that are earlier. Two unique songs on an album that is lacking any diversity.

Overall, there is some decent songs on this album but overall it sounds like white noise with songs passing you by quite effortlessly. I think Madison is lacking on some of outpouring her should on a few songs but when she does this, it makes for good music. Madison is still younger than me so she has potential for the future but this album is not for me.
